Our first event of the year and its a doozy! Enjoy a fun day of Spring motoring at the historic Watkins Glen International race course.

On Saturday April 5th we will drive out to Watkins Glen, NY home to the US Formula Grand Prix from 1961 -1980. There we will meet at the race track and participate in paced laps around the famous 2.5 mile road course. This will be opening day for Watkins Glen International and as such it will be open to the public for paid laps and there will be a lot of car clubs there like us. So it will be a great place to enjoy the track and talk with fellow auto enthusiasts from other clubs and check out all the cars.

Here's how the day will look:

8:00am Meet up locally at Stewarts in Westmoreland for gas and coffee. Address: 5319 NY-233, Westmoreland, NY 13490
8:30am - Depart for Watkins Glen International
11:00am - Arrive and Check in at WGI
11:30 - First Lap Session (3 Paced Laps)
12:00 - Second Lap Session (Optional)
12:30 - Explore the track and concessions and watch other cars on track.
1:30pm - Lunch at Seneca Lodge 
2:30pm - Individually depart for home or....
Explore Watkins Glen NY on your own or with other club members. You can check out the International Racing Institute. Drive the original Grand Prix Course on the public roads of Watkins Glen. Hike the beautiful Watkins Glen State Park gorge and enjoy the amazing waterfalls. Or, visit any of the local wineries or breweries.

Lap Tickets:

There are two things you need to do: First, register for this event through this page ($50) by clicking the blue button at the top of this page. Second, buy your lap tickets for Watkins Glen. WGI requires you to buy your own lap tickets ($31.50 tax incl.) per session of 3 laps. CMC has an 11:30am time slot for our first session. Anyone wishing to do another 3 paced laps can buy a second ticket in advance and you will go out again in the noon group.

CMC will not be providing them. There will likely be a track waiver or insurance form that you will need to download and bring with you as well.

The $50 Charity Motor Club registration fee to participate in this event covers the cost of lunch and a donation to our local charities in need.
